IF YOUR JUST TRYING TO PASS THE TEST, IT'S THE BOOK FOR YOU!
I've taken over 10 CLEP tests before. Prior to taking the psychology CLEP I already knew what to expect, and having actually many university level classes, CLEPS are a piece of cake. Now for the psychology CLEP, I only studied for THREE DAYS. That's it. However, I studied day and night, so don't get the wrong impression, I definitely crammed the material. When the test day came, I easily scored a 58, which I think is extremely well for studying only three days. Honestly, I've never put in more than ten days of studying for a CLEP and have managed to pass every one, including Algebra, Mathematics, Precalculus, Human Growth & Development, Western Civilization I & II, English I & II, Biology, Chemistry, Calculus, and Spanish. However, for some of the harder tests, outside resources should be taken into consideration, but not for psychology. If you read the book a few times, which isn't very thick, about 2-3 hours worth of reading, then you'll be able to pass the CLEP easy. I recommend taking a CLEP over the class any day if your just trying to get the credit, but don't count on CLEP being extremely thorough. If psychology is your major, your better off taking the class in order to better know the material, but if your like me and just need the credit, this is the book for you. However, if your aiming to score about a 60, you NEED to use outside materials like other books and the internet in order to get a higher score. Keep in mind that CLEP is just a pass or fail exam, it makes no difference whether you score a 50 or an 80, as long as you pass. However, your score does make a difference in the three different Language CLEPs that are offered. The Bottom Line - Buy this book if you need the credit, its more than enough if you study it, if I can do it after studying only three days, anybody can, the CLEP exams are CAKE!
