The New York times new complete guide to home repair

I have used this book for 30 years. It is my GoTo book, even though I have about 10 other home repair books. I find it has hints, tips, and shortcuts that are missing in the standard books. For instance, how to get the paint off of a brush using the paint can. You know that old guy in the hardware store that knows everything? That is this book.
